NextGen Office EHR Enhancements
Updated Administration: Drug Interaction Alerts (ONC2015) and Sunsetted Administration: Drug to Allergy Interaction Alerts and Administration: Drug to Drug Interaction Alerts
We fixed an issue where non-Meaningful Use Stage 2 (MU2) enrolled providers saw more drug interaction levels than were set by the practice in Administration: Drug Interaction Alerts (ONC2015). Non-MU2 enrolled providers now see the drug interaction levels set by the practice. Additionally, we have sunsetted the ability to create custom drug interactions on the Administration: Drug to Allergy Interaction Alerts and Administration: Drug to Drug Interaction Alerts pages.
Selecting Patient Declined for Race and/or Ethnicity in Patient Chart Maps in C-CDA
We fixed an issue where when you selected patient declined for the patient’s race and/or ethnicity in the chart, it was inaccurately mapped to no information in the C-CDA. Patient declined is now accurately mapped to patient declined in the C-CDA.
Clinical Summary PDF Information Matches Encounter Summary Preview
We fixed an issue where the clinical summary PDF did not show all of the information from the Encounter Summary Preview for Social History, Allergies, Medication History, Immunization History, Family History, Procedure Coding pages. The clinical summary PDF now matches the information in the Encounter Summary Preview.
Unlinking a Patient Chart from a Staff Message or Task Removes the Message or Task from Patient Chart
We fixed an issue where when you unlinked a patient chart from a staff message or task, the patient chart was unlinked from the staff message or task, but a duplicate staff message or task was created with the current date and time. The staff message or task is now removed from the chart.
NextGen Office PM Enhancements
Location and Provider Selected during Appointment Scheduling Defaults in Payment Posting during Check-in and Checkout
The location and provider selected during appointment scheduling is now selected by default in the payment posting section of the Check-In and Check-Out pages. You can still change the location and provider while posting payments.
Primary and Secondary Payers Appear in Edited Claims
When you edit a user hold claim, primary and secondary payers selected in the Bill To fields in the original claim now appear in the edited claim. We also added messaging for the cases where the insurance profile is not active.
HL7 Message Improvements
NextGen Office HL7 specifications have been updated to support improved data exchange. Review the attached NextGen Office HL7 specifications document with your integration vendors and make the necessary modifications.
We fixed issues where:
- The outbound ADT and DFT HL7 did not contain all relevant insurance profile details in the IN1 segment.
- The Orders Dashboard was stuck in loading and left the order in created status without generating an electronic order HL7 message in the patient chart.
Upcoming Enhancements for HL7 Integration Users
- Update inbound DFT (charge) messages to process claims under the billing provider, rendering provider, and servicing location coming in the HL7.
- Update the appointment (SIU) message to contain appointment/encounter insurance (IN1) information.
- Update NextGen Office PM to identify and correct current insurance profiles in the patient chart using advanced matching algorithms to reduce failures.
