NextGen Office Release Notes October 2022

This release includes new features and enhancements in NextGen® Office EHR, Practice Management, and Patient Portal. EHR includes the new QPP API integration for MIPS Improvement Activities attestation. Improvement Activities performance tracking is available on the MIPS Dashboard. The Quality Reporting button in My Reports has been renamed to QPP Reporting. In the Medication module, an indicator appears next to the medication name for medications with no NDC. Bamboo Health PDMP reports are available in the Medication module. The ICD-10 architecture includes the 2023 ICD-10 code set. The medication name, practice name, and practice address appear as expected in printed prescriptions. Practice Management and Patient Portal includes a new credit card processing integration – NextGen Pay Powered by InstaMed.

EHR Enhancements 

Improvement Activities on the MIPS Dashboard

The Improvement Activities tile is back on the MIPS Dashboard. You can track your performance in this MIPS performance category and upload documents to comply with the activity's requirements. Recommended measures appear in the Improvement Activities tab.

New QPP API Integration for MIPS Improvement Activities

NextGen Office EHR is now integrated with the new QPP API for MIPS Improvement Activities attestation. 

Updated My Reports

As part of the new QPP API integration for Improvement Activities, the Quality Reporting button in My Reports has been renamed to QPP Reporting.

Annual ICD-10 Update

Every year, the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) publishes updates to the ICD-10 code set effective October 1. NextGen Office EHR now includes 2022 ICD-10 code updates to the following:

• ICD-10 code set (announced on October 1)
• Suggested coding based on chief complaint
• Body system and speciality ICD-10 panels
• HCC risk scores
• ICD-10 search shortcut keywords

Information regarding the ICD-10-CM updates for FY 2023 are available from CMS.

Indicator for Drugs with No NDC 

When you search for a medication in the Medication module, an indicator  now appears next to the medication name for medications with no NDC.

Updated Bamboo Health PDMP Reports 

We fixed an issue where when Bamboo Health updated requirements for the state of California, the PDMP reports were unavailable in the Medication module. PDMP reports are now available.

Updated Printed Prescriptions 

We fixed an issue where when you print a prescription, the medication name was missing and the practice name and address shifted. The medication name, practice name, and practice address now appear in printed prescriptions as expected.
