NextGen Office Practice Management Enhancements Coming in Feb 2020

Coming on February 20 – NextGen Office Clinical Content Update to the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9)

The Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) will be archived from Social History on February 20. The questionnaire is now available in Chief Complaint. You must manually activate this form.

To activate the PHQ-9 form in Chief Complaint

  1. Click Admin.
  2. Under EHR Setup, click Custom Forms.
  3. Under Form Manager, from the Filter menu, select Inactive.
  4. Click Questionnaire.
  5. Select the Active option for the PHQ-9 form.

To save a copy of NextGen Office-supplied custom forms

  1. Click Admin.
  2. Under EHR Setup, click Custom Forms.
  3. Under Form Manager, click Copy As New for the desired custom forms.
  4. Type the New Form Name.
  5. Click Save.

Note: It is your responsibility to maintain the accuracy of any form that you copy as new since after you save a copy, these forms are no longer maintained by NextGen Office.

Importing a prior encounter where the form is a NextGen Office-supplied custom form The previous information used in that custom form will be available to review in your prior encounter note; however, it can only be used for reference and the updated custom form will NOT be imported into the current note. Blueprint
  • The previous information used in the custom form will remain as long as the custom form is not updated.
  • If the custom form is updated, the previous information will be replaced by the updated/newer form.
If the custom form is part of a blueprint and the user wants the new content on the blueprint, the user is required to update the blueprint by:
  • Starting a new encounter.
  • Importing the blueprint that needs updates.
  • Documenting the requirements for the blueprint on the custom form.
  • Saving over the existing blueprint.
Updating a reopened encounter where the form is a NextGen Office-supplied custom form    
 
  • The previous information used in the custom form will remain as long as the custom form is not updated.
  • If the custom form is updated, the previous information will be replaced by the updated/newer form.
